One student. One problem. One promise
Kevin is a high school student in Bangkok who noticed what most people ignore: every takeout order comes with a fresh pair of wooden chopsticks that go straight to the bin. He built Ecopods to change that โ with 12 Chinese zodiac designs, a design patent, and his father handling production and sales. A real family startup.
The Problem We're Solving
45 billion pairs of single-use chopsticks are discarded annually in China alone. That's 25 million trees. Ecopods exists to make the reusable choice so convenient and beautiful that disposables become the awkward option.
Minimalism Meets Purpose
We obsessed over every millimeter of the case, every layer of lacquer, every zodiac detail โ because we believe a product you love is a product you keep. That's the most sustainable choice of all.
The 30% Foundation
We didn't add the 30% donation after figuring out our margins. We started with it. It's a founding constraint โ and it makes us better designers, because every dollar spent has to earn its place.
From Bangkok to Beijing
Kevin is in 11th grade at an international school in Bangkok. He'd watched takeout meals arrive with disposable chopsticks his entire life โ and at some point started wondering why no one had made a reusable set actually worth carrying. The answer: someone needed to design it. He spent 2023 iterating through 12+ prototypes, testing lacquer formulas and case dimensions until every detail was right. His father joined to handle manufacturing and sales. Together they took it from a hand-drawn sketch to a design-patented product now sold in Beijing, Shanghai, and Tokyo. The 30% conservation pledge was in from day one โ not an afterthought.
